Biochemical Development Engineers are responsible for the design and scaling up of processes, instruments, and equipment from the laboratory stages of development to the pilot plant and manufacturing process. The engineer is also responsible for assisting manufacturing staff in solving problems related to production equipment and systems and for participating in the design of new manufacturing facilities and equipment. In addition, the engineer develops and recommends new process formulas and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and product quality.
