Greenhouse Assistants perform a variety of greenhouse research tasks and experiments. They may make detailed observations to detect horticultural or pest problems and take corrective action as needed. Greenhouse Assistants determine optimal cultural requirements and perform tasks to prevent insects and disease from inhabiting the plants. They may collect, record, and analyze data and assist in the interpretation of results. Assistants may also perform troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
$20,000 - $40,000 per year
Skills/Knowledge Ability to maintain accurate records. Attention to detail. Good oral, written and computer communication skills. Training/Requirements BS degree or equivalent. Up to two years of experience in plant breeding, agronomics and/or training in plant breeding or plant science.
