Laboratory Assistants are responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the laboratory including weighing and measuring compounds and solutions, making detailed observations, analyzing data on experiments, and interpreting results. They may also write experimental reports and summaries. Assistants maintain laboratory equipment and inventories for laboratory equipment and supplies. They may perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory instruments and also care for and handle animals in animal laboratories.
