Research Associates in Research and Development are usually responsible for performing research and laboratory tasks for projects and products in collaboration with others. They assist in the design and execution of experiments and in the interpretation of the results of the scientific investigation. Their work often requires the preparation of technical reports, protocols, summaries and analyses of data. Research Associates may act as principal investigators in conducting their own experiments.

Skills/Knowledge Good oral, written and computer communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to read and understand relevant scientific literature. Strong observational and computational skills. Training/Requirements BS or MS degree in a discipline such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology. Possess up to two years of laboratory experience with MS and two to five years with BS.
