Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is a "cradle-to-grave" waste management system that minimizes hazardous wastes risks at their source and controls disposal. RCRA Compliance/Enforcement Officers coordinate investigations of major hazardous waste sites for possible violations. They determine which alleged violations to investigate. They prepare enforcement documents and negotiate proper remedial activities with companies and coordinate all compliance/enforcement activities with other government agencies responsible for hazardous waste.
