Equipment Operators run special equipment to unload, layer, and compact sealed waste containers in landfill sites. Finally, they cover the prepared area with quick-setting foam or high-density polyethylene blankets. They operate special cranes, wheeled or tracked excavators, and common construction equipment such as graders, scrapers and bulldozers to do their work. Operators also run equipment to dig up underground storage tanks or take core samples for soil testing and remediation.
Hourly Wage $10.00 - $22.00
Skills -- Operate equipment following work orders, signals or spoken instructions exactly; -- Work as a team member with concern for the safety of others -- Work calmly and efficiently under hazardous or emergency conditions. Training/Requirements -- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; -- Hazardous Waste Workers Training Certificate from an EPA approved school; -- Commercial Driver's License (Two-Axle Vehicle); -- One year experience in hazardous waste or related work.
