Environmental Hazardous Waste/Field Technicians take soil/debris samples at contaminated sites and identify, analyze, inventory, package, label and ship hazardous waste. They assist in emergency responses and answer general queries, speaking before groups and composing written replies. They make or assist with field (site) inspections and prepare reports and documents required by EPA and local regulatory agencies.

Skills: - Research regulations and recommend compliance methods - Maintain records required by regulatory agencies - Work independently, or cooperatively as a team member - Work calmly and efficiently under hazardous or emergency conditions - Act as lead person for small crews - Deal courteously and efficiently with customers - Drive company vehicles and operate equipment such as fork lifts - Repair minor equipment failures Training/Requirements: - A.A. Degree, certificate or equivalent experience in Environmental Hazardous Material Technology or Environmental Technology - Hazardous Waste Worker Certificate from an EPA-approved school
