Licensed Vocational Nurses provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in such settings as hospitals, clinics, private homes, schools, sanitariums, and similar institutions. LVNs interested in caring for patients in their homes usually dress and bathe the patients, provide medical treatment, and prepare the patients' meals.
Salaries differ from one district to another, by additional education, and amount of work or experience. Nurses with no experience may earn an hourly wage from $5.75 to $17.00. With two years experience they usually earn $7.50 to $18.00, and Licensed Vocational Nurses with three or more years of experience may make $9.00 to $22.00 per hour.
