First-line Supervisors and Managers directly supervise and coordinate
activities of helpers, laborers, or material movers.
Manager/Supervisors are generally found in smaller establishments where
they perform both supervisory and management functions, such as
accounting, marketing, and personnel work. In addition, Manager/
Supervisors may also engage, in part, in the same hand labor as the
workers they supervise. Does not include work leaders who spend 20% or
more of their time at tasks similar to those of employees under their
supervision and report them in the occupations which are most closely
related to their specific work duties.
